MSG JON L. PARRA
MSG Jon L. Parra was born in Los Angeles, Ca. He enlisted in the Army in 1993. He completed basic training at Ft. Sill, OK and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Bliss, TX as a 16P Chaparral crewmember. In 1995 he transitioned to 14T Patriot missile crew member. His assignments include 3-2 ADA, Ft. Lewis, WA; 6-52 ADA Ansbach, GE; U.S. Army Recruiting Command, Los Angeles, Ca; 2-43 ADA FT. Bliss, TX; 3-4 ADAR, Ft. Bragg, NC.
MSG Parra has held numerous leadership positions to include PATRIOT missile section chief, recruiting station commander, PATRIOT Platoon Sergeant, Vulnerability Assessment Team Chief, and First Sergeant.
His military awards and decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (1-OLC), the Army Commendation Medal (5OLC), the Army Achievement Medal (4OLC), Army Good conduct Medal(5th awd), the National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the NCO Professional Development Ribbon (w/num3) the Army Service Ribbon and the Overseas Service ribbon(w/num2) and The Gold Recruiting Badge with 3rd sapphire. MSG Parra’s Airborne badges include the Basic and Senior Parachutist Wings, and Chilean Parachutist wings.
